Amendments to the Election Offences Act 1954

The removal of safeguards from the Election Offences Act 1954 is a gross crime against democracy. This amendment is a step if not two steps backwards in the country's efforts of becoming a developed nation by the year 2020. The government of the day has seen it fit to disallow monitoring of the electoral process by providing the Election Commission with the power to allow or disallow the participation of polling and counting agents. So much for the wishes of the people for clean and fair elections. Please spread the word and show the government of the day what the people want by participating in this Saturday's Bersih 3.0 rally.
